What to expect
Throughout this 9-week subject, students will engage with 6 modules. In this subject, students will uncover the latest technological trends impacting the travel and tourism industry. They will explore digital advancements, transformations, and disruptions that have occurred, and become familiar with the commonly used systems and technology within the sector.
During the course, students will:
- Gain insights into fundamental CRM (customer relationship management) tools crucial for customer service and vital for aspiring travel professionals.
- Recognize and contemplate recent technological trends in travel and tourism.
- Explore the impact of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence in travel and tourism.
- Investigate the utilization of modern digital innovations in the travel and tourism industry.

Student Experience

Study Mode & Structure
Each subject runs over 9 weeks, designed to help you stay focused and make steady progress.
You’ll take part in:
- 3.3 hours per week of facilitated study consisting of
- attending class (live classes, tutorials, Q&A sessions) and
- engaging with facilitators (coaching calls, assessment feedback etc.)
- 7-10 hours per week of independent study including pre-readings, videos, assessment task progression and other learning activities
Across the term, you’ll explore six themed modules (one per week) and complete three assessments that help you apply what you’ve learned in realistic industry scenarios.

Assessment
You’ll complete three practical assessments designed to help you apply what you’ve learned in realistic industry scenarios — with no exams.
Assessments are spread across weeks 3, 6, and 9, and will include tasks such as online quizzes, reflective essays, role plays, presentations or similar that mirror real workplace skills.
