Throughout this 9-week subject, students will engage with 6 modules. The subject is designed to build students' understanding of the travel consultant’s role and deepen your knowledge of destinations, products, and industry systems, helping you develop the skills to become the expert behind unforgettable travel experiences.
Step into the fast-paced world of travel consulting — learning how to transform customer dreams into expertly crafted travel experiences. You’ll explore the core skills every successful travel consultant needs, including how to analyse and recommend destinations, products, and packages tailored to client preferences. Through hands-on learning, you’ll apply advanced sales strategies, interpret KPIs to achieve business goals, and work with professional computer reservation systems to build and manage bookings.
From understanding customer motivations to confidently delivering travel itineraries, this subject prepares you to consult, sell, and service with the professionalism today’s travel industry demands.

Study Mode & Structure
This subject runs over 9 weeks and includes:
- 3.3 hours per week of facilitated study (live classes, tutorials, Q&A sessions)
- 7-10 hours per week of independent study (pre-readings, videos, assessments)

- Introduction to Travel Consulting and the Industry – Roles, responsibilities, and trends in travel
- Travel Products, Destinations & KPIs – Understanding travel products and applying performance goals
- Reading Minds & Closing Deals – Identifying customer needs and perfecting sales techniques
- Building Itineraries & AI Integration – Using technology to enhance itinerary planning and storytelling
- Technology in Travel – Navigating reservation systems, CRMs, and booking tools
- Simulating Real-World Travel Bookings – Applying your skills in a full booking process simulation
Assessment
You’ll complete three assessments designed to help you apply your learning in realistic industry scenarios. Assessments take place in weeks 3,6 & 9.
