What advice do you have for students just starting their travel course?

Take as many notes as possible. There’s so much to learn along the way and you need to be ready to take it all in!

This is a course and a career in which you are constantly learning and up-skilling, so your notes become super important to fall back on.

Stick with it and be persistent. There’s a lot of stuff to remember, but after a while it becomes second nature. Working for Flight Centre opens up so many possibilities and being a part of the Flight Centre Travel Academy is just the first taste!

How has studying travel with the Academy helped you reach your goals?

Having the knowledge about the booking systems really helped me in my role as a travel consultant.

I was able to go straight into consulting rather than spend two weeks in the Learning Centre like all the other new starters, which made me feel a lot more confident in my abilities.

Would you studying at the Academy to someone with a passion for travel?

Absolutely. It's such a great way to start your career in travel. Having a foot in the door makes the whole application process easy and you get to dive head-first into a job where you are talking about what you love every day – travel!
