Travel Academy Students Get an Exclusive Look Inside ATE25
A group of our students had the incredible opportunity to experience the Australian tourism industry at its very best by attending the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE25) this year held in Brisbane.
About ATE25: Australia’s Premier Tourism Trade Event
ATE25 marked the 45th edition of the Australian tourism industry’s largest annual business-to-business event. Held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from 27 April to 1 May 2025, the event brought together 1,600 Australian tourism businesses and over 700 global buyer delegates from 31 countries.
In partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland, and with support from the Brisbane Economic Development Agency, ATE25 was a pivotal platform for scheduled business appointments, strategic networking, and showcasing Australia’s world-class tourism offerings.
Beyond the conference rooms, international buyers were also treated to immersive familiarisation tours across the country, giving them a true taste of Australia’s diverse experiences.
A Unique Industry Experience for Our Students
While ATE is typically a delegate-only event, a group of lucky Travel Academy students were invited for a special behind-the-scenes industry experience, guided by Tourism Australia.
Before heading to ATE25, students were welcomed at our Brisbane Head Office for an exclusive lunch, where they had the chance to connect with industry professionals and gain valuable insights into the world of tourism.
At the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, students witnessed firsthand how the global travel trade connects with Australian tourism businesses. They explored the exhibition floor, observed high-level business appointments, and gained a deeper understanding of how tourism products are promoted to international markets.
Bridging the Gap Between Study and Industry
Opportunities like ATE25 are invaluable for students aspiring to build careers in the travel and tourism sector. By stepping inside a global trade event, students could see the practical side of their studies come to life—understanding industry trends, networking dynamics, and the critical role of tourism marketing.
This unique experience not only broadened their knowledge but also inspired them to envision their own future in the industry.
