Our Students Stepping Confidently Into Travel Consultant Careers ✈️💼
by Nicole Peterson on 30-Jan-2026 10:44:34
Choosing a new career path can feel overwhelming — especially when you’re changing industries, returning to study, or starting later in life. But with the right training, support, and guidance, becoming a travel consultant is not only possible — it’s achievable.
Here, we’re celebrating several of our travel consultant students who have recently secured travel agent jobs and are now building rewarding careers in the travel industry.
Their stories highlight the real outcomes of structured learning, strong mentorship, and persistence.
Overcoming Self-Doubt and Career Change Fears
Many students begin their travel consultant journey unsure if they’ll succeed — particularly those changing careers or returning to study later in life.
Andrea Scott shared that completing her diploma felt uncertain at times:
“Being an older person having a massive career change and not ever thinking I would go to University, to finish on such a high was great — something I didn’t think I’d ever achieve.”
Despite moments of overwhelm, Andrea completed her qualification with two High Distinctions, proving that age or background doesn’t limit success in a travel consultant career.
“I overcame one of my weaknesses which was fear of failure, with not failing!”
The Importance of Ongoing Support and Mentorship
A major factor in student success is consistent guidance throughout the course — not just academic learning, but coaching, encouragement, and real-world insight.
Andrea credits facilitator coaching for helping her stay on track:
“Massive thank you to Daryn, Sam and Amanda for the many coaching calls that got me through.”
Similarly, Kira-Lee Hall emphasised how support made opportunities possible:
“I know I wouldn’t have made it there without the constant support and encouragement from my team, mentors, and the Academy.”
This level of mentorship is critical for students preparing for travel agent jobs in a competitive industry.

Real-World Travel Agent Jobs That Feel Worth It
While transitioning into a new career can be demanding, students consistently say the rewards outweigh the challenges.
Justin Worsley-Grace explains:
“It is stressful but totally worth it… Seeing happy customers and helping them book travel makes it all worth it!”
Helping clients plan meaningful travel experiences is one of the most fulfilling aspects of working as a travel consultant — and a key reason graduates stay motivated.
“Best decision joining the FC family!”
Confidence Through Practical Learning and On-the-Job Experience
A successful travel consultant doesn’t need to know everything immediately. What matters most is a strong foundation and a willingness to learn.
Andrea reflects on her transition into the role:
“I am loving my new role as a travel consultant, learning every day, as there is so much to learn behind the scenes.”
This continuous learning mindset allows graduates to grow confidently, adapt quickly, and succeed long-term in travel consultant careers.
A Proven Pathway From Study to a Travel Consultant Career
The journey from enrolment to employment looks different for every student — but the outcome is the same: confidence, capability, and real travel industry opportunities.
As these stories show, successful travel consultant careers are built on:
-
Starting with the right training and realistic expectations
-
Ongoing support from mentors who understand the industry
-
Practical skills that translate directly into travel agent jobs
-
The confidence to keep learning and growing on the job
Whether students are changing careers, returning to study, or stepping into the travel industry for the first time, a well-supported travel consultant program creates a clear and achievable pathway forward.
These graduates are proof that with structure, encouragement, and determination, turning a passion for travel into a rewarding career isn’t just possible — it’s happening every day
