Counselling and Wellbeing support is available for all students.

Counselling

Counselling can offer support for personal challenges and feelings like stress, anxiety, loneliness, grief, homesickness, family issues, or thoughts of suicide. It’s here to help you cope with life while studying and be your best self, but it’s not for academic support. To access counselling services through Torrens University Australia, just visit this page or fill out a CARE form. We’re here to help you through any tough times.

Wellbeing

If you are feeling unsafe, overwhelmed or in distress and need to talk to someone right now, the Wellbeing support line is open to all students living in Australia and available 24 hours a day, all year round. Call 1300 093 800 or text 0485 829 959 to talk to a mental health professional who can offer immediate support.

Work, study + Fly Program FAQs

Are classes online or in person?

All subjects are delivered completely online!

Our Program Sessions are also online learning sessions.

Our Work, Study + Fly Sneak Peek Event is an optional in-person event at Flight Centre HQ in Brisbane. Invitations will be sent to you well in advance providing ample time for you to make travel arrangements (at your own cost) should you wish to join us.

Am I guaranteed a job after I complete my Diploma?

While we can't promise employment, we're committed to offering extra training including our program sessions that prepares you thoroughly for the interview stage, making you a standout candidate.

What do I do if I am struggling to stay on track with my studies?

If you are struggling to stay on track with your studies there are multiple options for you. You can seek support from your subject facilitators, talk to your Student Support team or book in a call with your Program Leader to discuss part time options or changing your study load.

What happens if I don't pass my studies?

You will be given the opportunity to re-sit the subject at your own expense if you fail. Supplementary exams and assignments exist for students who are just under the pass mark.

Are there particular requirements for becoming cabin crew such as height?

Yes, most airlines have certain requirements to ensure you are able to carry out your duties, such as a minimum height requirement in order to reach the emergency equipment. This changes from airline to airline, depending on the type of aircraft they use.

For Sneak Peek - can I attend any event dates and where should I stay?

If you are unable to attend the Sneak Peek event you have been invited to, yes you can attend another session.

We recommend you stay near Flight Centre HQ in South Brisbane rather than the airport as we will have transport from HQ to the training facility and back for day 2.

How do I change programs? What if I want to do a different job pathway?

Absolutely! Switching to a new pathway is possible, but it is dependent on timing. Connect with your Program Leader for a detailed discussion on how you can smoothly transition into a new Program.
