How to Bookmark your Program Portal Page

Saving a website to your home screen (like an app) is also known as creating a bookmark. It gives you quick access to the page without having to open a browser and type in the URL.

To make a page an app/bookmark on an iPhone or iPad, you can add a shortcut to the page to your home screen:

  1. Open link - open Safari or Chrome and navigate to the page you want to add
  2. Tap Share icon (which looks like a box with an up arrow, at the bottom of the Safari browser)
  3. Tap Add to Home Screen
  4. Name the shortcut and tap Add  
The shortcut will open the page in its own navigation window, separate from what's already open in the browser.

To make a website an app on a Samsung phone or tablet, you can add it to your home screen as a shortcut:

  1. Open Link - open Chrome and navigate to the website you want to add
  2. Tap the menu icon (three dots in the upper right-hand corner)
  3. Tap Add to home screen
  4. Choose a name for the website shortcut  
You can also add an app shortcut to your home screen by touching and holding the app until a menu displays, and then tapping Add to Home.
 

Bookmarks are useful for saving time, especially when you need to access a specific part of a website or a page with a long URL.

To make a bookmark on your laptop, you can use your browser's bookmark feature to save a website's URL for later reference. Bookmarks will stay even if you've cleared your cache or deleted cookies:  
 
Google Chrome
To create a bookmark in Google Chrome on your laptop, you can do the following:
  1. Open Chrome on your computer
  2. Go to the page you want to bookmark
  3. Select Bookmark to the right of the address bar
  4. Select Bookmark this page  
You can also customize the bookmark by renaming it and choosing a folder to save it in. If you want to create a new folder, click More.  
To make your bookmarks bar appear, you can:
  1. Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar
  2. Select Bookmarks
  3. Select Always show bookmarks bar 
Microsoft Edge
To make a bookmark in Microsoft Edge, you can:  
  1. Open Microsoft Edge and go to the page you want to bookmark  
  2. Click the star icon in the top right of the address bar  
  3. Name the bookmark  
  4. Choose a folder to save the bookmark in  
  5. Click Done  
You can also use a keyboard shortcut to bookmark a page:
  • PCPress Ctrl + D
  • MacPress Command + D  
 Other browsers
  • Most browsers have a keyboard shortcut to open the bookmark menu, such as Ctrl+D. You can also drag and drop the web address into the address bar to bookmark the page.
