You’ll pay your program fee once you’ve been connected with your employer partner. This typically happens after you’ve completed at least four subjects, though the exact timing will depend on your planned move date. Please book a call with your Program Leader if you would like to discuss this further.
Canada requires CAD$2,500 minimum amount in your bank account. The more you take with you the more you will be able to do during your working holiday. You'll need enough for rent, basic eating and a couple of nights at the pub for happy hour.
Please do not make travel arrangements until your visa has been approved and you have a job offer. Once you have confirmation of a role you can then book flights and purchase travel insurance. Please note travel expenses are not included in the program fee but we can offer your exclusive student fares through Flight Centre.
Your wage will change depending on your role and where you are located. You will be paid award rates based on your job. Here is an indication of what you can expect to be paid:
Canada - CAD$16-20 per hour
Just like any job, time off is generally provided by your employer. Please note that time off work may be quite restrictive during peak holiday periods eg. Easter, School Holidays etc.
Some employers have probation periods so it's important to put your best foot forward from the beginning.
If you are unsuccessful with your first job preference, you will be able to apply for other jobs in Canada. If you are still unsuccessful, our Program Team will support you through the process to find other jobs in the Tourism industry in Australia & your visa processing fee will be refunded.
