Frequently Asked Questions

To ensure that FCTA protect the health and wellbeing of all students and faculty, classes that are currently scheduled from Monday, 23rd March 2020 through to Friday, 1st May 2020 will be transitioned into Simulated Classes.

Our Simulated Classes involve completing your 5 days of training as originally scheduled (your class dates will remain the same). You will still be expected to complete some pre-class reading, in the week prior to attending your week class block, and you will then attend as mentioned above a week of facilitated learning, (via zoom sessions with your allocated facilitator as per the schedule below).

FCTA will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and follow advice provided by the Australian Government Department of Health and keep students updated during this period. Please ensure that you regularly check your emails or contact FCTA on 1300 369 649.

Online Students: Your assessment due dates remain unchanged. If you have been personally affected by COVID-19 and wish to apply for an extension, please obtain a medical certificate and apply via the facilitator of your subject.

Intensive / Blended: Your assessment due dates for subjects completed with FCTA will be reviewed in line with the amendments made to your class for FCTA in-class subjects only. Please note this does not change your assessment dates for subjects currently being undertaken with Torrens University eg. Business Communications BIZ101.

In this current climate, the value of highly educated employees within the travel and tourism industry is critical. Customers require and benefit from the advice, support and care demonstrated by industry professionals across all travel sectors, as they amend, reschedule, or cancel their travel. The travel industry is being dramatically impacted and, just as it did during SARS, 9/11 and the GFC, will bounce back from this and new highly educated employees will be a much sought-after resource to lead the recovery.

FCTA will continue to support you in your career goals and our Placements Manager will continue to assist you with work experience opportunities when available. The travel and tourism industry is undergoing significant impact at this time and we will continue to support our industry partnerships to ensure the best possible timing for your work experience is provided.

At FCTA, our students' health and wellbeing is our main concern. At this time, we ask that if you are feeling unwell you exercise caution, don’t come to class and follow the advice and direction of the Department of Health. If you remain concerned and showing symptoms of COVID-19, we recommend that you call the Coronavirus Health Information Line for advice on 1800 020 080.

Please notify the FCTA or the Facilitator of the class that you are due to attend so alternative arrangements can be made.

Class schedules are currently being reviewed to minimise the impact of the current situation on your studies and you will be contacted directly with advice of how your classes will continue.

We are aware that at this point in time, our colleagues within the Recruitment division of FCTG are experiencing a high volume of enquiries regarding applications.
