Students must demonstrate their ability to undertake study at the required level:
• Broadly relevant work experience (documented e.g. CV), demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success; OR
• formal, informal or non-formal study, completed or partially completed, demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success; OR
• written submission to demonstrate reasonable prospect of success


No, prospective students just need to meet the entry requirements to demonstrate a reasonable prospect of academic success. Students also need to be aware that it is an adult learning environment and they must have the ability to self manage study requirements to meet required deadlines.

Students are required to be competent in written and spoken English and may need to undertake a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy test as part of the enrolment process.

The full fee is $19,200 however all FCTA enrolments in 2017 will receive a 15% scholarship discount - making it $16,320 ($8,160 per semester). FEE-HELP is also available to eligible students.

5 day classes are mandatory as they contain vital learning and in-built assessments. 'Workshops' are optional, these are study assist days for those needing extra support.

Yes, online support will be provided as well as on campus study workshops.

The Diploma of Travel and Tourism is suited to a range of different career opportunities and can also be used as a step into further higher education.

We can not guarantee that everyone is suitable to a Travel Industry role, therefore no placements can be guaranteed.

However, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your ability throughout your time with us. Based on your performance in class and on assessments, you will potentially gain the opportunity to meet with the Flight Centre Recruitment team or our Industry Partners.


You will receive a Student ID number. However, as you are not expected to attend classroom in a full-time capacity, this may restrict the Travel and Accommodation discounts that you are eligible for.

Students will have articulation arrangements with Torrens University Australia to allow them to progress into further higher education courses like a Bachelor of Business (Tourism Management) with credits/advanced standing.

Not necessarily, each university has their own admissions/entry requirements. Students would need to contact the university directly.

Students have an obligation to work independently and apply scholarly academic conventions in examinations and other forms of assessment tasks. Any form of cheating, plagiarism or collusion, or other forms of dishonesty, devalues the quality of student learning and undermines the academic standards of the University. There are serious consequences for students who do not act honestly and with integrity during their studies.

This policy outlines how academic performance is monitored to ensure that students who are at risk of not achieving satisfactory progress receive appropriate learning support and assistance. If a student’s progress remains unsatisfactory, the Torrens University Australia may impose conditions on the student’s continued enrolment or the student may be excluded from continuing their studies in their course.

Assessments could include written reports, role plays, presentations and exams. This policy also covers Overdue Assessments, Deferral and Extensions, Exam Resit and Assessment Resubmit for Extenuating Circumstances.
